We're looking for a Linux Systems Administrator / Network Engineer.

If you can describe the Linux boot process, explain what Run Levels are, compile the kernel from source and configure the firewall then read on!

We are seeking a Linux guru with specialist expertise in administration of high traffic, high performance Linux systems.

This is the best company in Australia for committed and passionate Linux Systems Admins to be working.

You'll be working on a set of hundreds of Linux servers distributed around the world, and you'll be working to double that server network of servers over the next 12 months.

In this environment you will be working amongst some of the brighest technical minds on large scale global systems built entirely around open source technologies.

In this role you will be responsible for a global network of linux devices which are running web servers, database servers and monitoring and capturing Internet traffic. You will have responsibility for all aspects of the network of web servers, including:

Building and configuring new server systems
Ensuring uptime
Actively monitoring to ensure servers do not go down
Troubleshooting
Performance
Security
Capacity planning
Backups
Integration with development processes

Your skills:

First class Linux systems administration experience
Broad knowledge of Linux internals
Deep knowledge of Apache and other web servers
Some knowledge of network security
Knowledge of network protocols
Strong communication and personal skills
Presentable
Knowledge of hardware
Knowledge of switches and routers
